/ Friends Of The Pastels Newsletter / World Of Possibility O.K. new super
lubed up new single is Worlds of Possibility, and how good it is. So good that
we would have invented the gyroscope if it wasn't already. We are usual physics
experts plus Ian Carmichael of One Dove. Forget genre holes cause we're in The
Face with this, Independant On Sunday like us and our bank manager even let us
row his boat across to the other side metaphorically speaking. Tip top beats and
we're wsollen with pride cause it just might be the best thing we've done. Super
8 video again with all action dancing and prancing - request it on your local
hip T.V. station. Photgram by Aggi, 5-tone twirlies, heads down no-wave, it blasts.
Love It's Getting Better 6T's soul cover of The Groove by Katrina. She sings.
Ever Far, I always thought I'd like to be dislocated Glen Campbell of the 90's,
kind of casual but not too much, you know accidentally coining it in with a relaxed
smile and a shrug of the shoulders. I'm working it up but in the meantime here's
some nice velvety noodling by J. Kilgour and banging doors courtesy of gormless
studio intruders. So there you are, we're already to cross it over, o.k. Forthcoming
from us later this year will be our transatlantic special collaboration with Al
Larsen and probably another single or e.p. with the hard-core. We're also hoping
to put out Worlds Of Possibility on 7'' somewhere in the world. Out there Pat
Laureate is just about ready to go with the Vesuvius 'In Spelunca' 10'' - scarce
Melody Dog Stampede, plus Starstruck, Lung .Leg, Hello Skinny, Cotton Gum, Yummy
Fur, Sally Skull and The Manxish Boys. POMP001 on May001, it's rising missus.
Pastels collaborators check list : 1.Jad Fair in Belgium at Lo-fi festival.
Many new records with beautiful sleeves, some of them from Japan. Marc Baines
in tow. 2. New Policecat 10'' in shops now. It's Larry, a top tune. 3.Dean
Wareham's Luna now in better situ for U.K. (Beggars Banquet). Lauded duet with
Laetitia on Serge Gainsbourg's Bonnie and Clyde. French singing and international
guitar playing. 4.Teenage Fanclub ready to roll with new lp Grand Prix. Many
great songs to enjoy. Norman grows beard and Gerard takes up jogging. Who's smarter
? No mail order please 'til after French tour. New list and improved service
soon there-after. Next time we'll tell you how we viked it up in Norway. Best
wishes, Stephen
